Laminator Supervisor - Shawano, WI (All Shifts)

Job Title: Laminator Supervisor (Shawano, WI)

As a Laminator Supervisor at Belmark, you will be the driving force behind our team’s success. You’ll support our Lead Operators, Operators, and Trainees to achieve top-notch product quality, on-time shipments, and optimal throughput, fully aligned with our Mission, Purpose, and Principles. Your role will immerse you in every facet of lamination operations, from streamlining processes and expediting materials to enhancing productivity through system improvements, employee training, and equipment maintenance. With a focus on empowering and mentoring your team while supporting new product initiatives, you’ll make a tangible impact every day. Schedule:

  • 1A & 1B shift schedule is from 4:00am - 4:00pm
  • 2A & 2B shift schedule is from 4:00pm - 4:00am
  • All shifts work a 3 day on, 4 day off rotation (NO swing shift)

What will I do in this role?

  • Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  • Anticipate short-term and long-term production needs and plan to meet them in conjunction with sales and scheduling efforts.
  • Achieve continuous improvement in quality, waste and productivity. Solve daily production problems.
  • Assign, instruct and coordinate the work of all production personnel.
  • Ensure proper staffing for straight time achievement of production needs. Must authorize and explain any overtime worked.
  • Responsible for product quality, motivation and coaching of personnel.
  • Hold production personnel accountable for adhering to agreed upon standards, processes and systems.
  • Coordinate daily production needs with the following departments: Press, Graphics and Scheduling. Make daily production decisions.
  • Direct appearance activities for the equipment, support equipment and associated areas.
  • Coordinate maintenance requirements.
  • Take corrective action to eliminate problems.
  • Cross train as necessary to ensure equipment coverage.
  • Ensure that raw materials inventories are accurate. Ensure accurate allocation of stock to jobs.
  • Provide coverage on material handling as needed.
  • Assist with the development of annual plan for personnel, processes and equipment improvement. Provide verbal and written feedback and training in proper processes and techniques to production personnel.
  • Assist in planning and executing research and development projects and sample request efforts.
  • Assist with performance reviews, attendance records, scheduling vacations, time card accuracy and pay recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school. Requires two (2) years of production experience, preferably in the flexo printing industry.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
  • Must understand people and be able to communicate effectively with them.
  • Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in time.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
  • Must be able to solve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to operate all production equipment. Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow implicit and explicit written and oral instructions.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to: stand for up to 35% of work time; walk for 35% of work time; and sit for 30% of work time. Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less or 20 feet or more, to identify and distinguish colors and to adjust the eye to bring and object into sharp focus.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds or less 30% of work time. May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
