Machine Operator (4p - 4a; 3 days on, 4 off; NO swing) - Plant 7

Department: Production
Location: De Pere, WI

Summary

Working in our state of the art Folding Carton plant, you will be responsible for operating one of the following machines at the highest efficiency possible while following standard operating procedures and work instructions to produce high quality product.

  • Sheeter
  • Printing Press
  • Die Cutter
  • Folder Gluer

Schedule

  • 12-hour shift, 4:00PM - 4:00AM, 3 days on, 4 days off (consecutive) - NO SWING
  • Work 36 hours per week, get paid for 40 hours - That's like earning an extra $2 per hour for what you actually work!
  • $1.00/hour shift differential!
  • Overtime after 36 hours!

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  • Responsible to work together with Operators, Lead Operators, Assistant Operators and Back-up Operators.
  • Set and adjust machine controls.
  • Monitor machine while in operation and perform machine changeover tasks.
  • Assist other areas of production with staging of materials and tools.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Maintain quality, productivity and waste according to set standards.
  • Perform all job tasks utilizing required personal protective equipment and correct safety procedures.
  • Responsible for complying with and following all standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Ensure product is processed according to production schedule.
  • Keep work area and machine organized and clean.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. May be required to work some overtime.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
  • Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school.
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to: stand and walk for 90% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 10% of work time.
  • Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distance and spatial relationships; and to adjust the eye to being an object into sharp focus.
  • Ability to: use hands for 100% of work time; reach above shoulders for 50% of work time; and use feet to operate machines for 30% of work time.
  • Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 25% of work time; 25 pounds or less 30% of work time; 50 pounds or less 25% of work time; and may lift 100 pounds or less 5% of work time. (Example: lifting roll of material on and off the press approximately 6 ft.)
  • May lift 100 pounds or more.
  • May be required to use sense of smell.
