Shipping Technician- Flexible Packaging (PM - 12 Hour Shift) - Plant 3

Department: FLM Ship
Location: De Pere, WI

Do you enjoy working hands-on utilizing some of the best technology in the printing and packaging industry? Does accepting daily challenges and exceeding goals resonate with you? Belmark is seeking Shipping Technicians to be Responsible for packaging, labeling and staging printed products in a timely manner in order to meet customer needs.  Close communication with Account Service and Rewind Department personnel is important.  Also, responsible for arranging orders requiring special carrier pick up. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, our technicians are able to work in a friendly environment with a potential to grow with the company.

Schedule:

  • PM shift hours are from 4:00 P.M. - 4:00 A.M. with a schedule of 3 days on and 4 days off
  • 12 hour shifts with consistent hours, NO SWING SHIFT
  • Overtime after 36 hours!
  • Many of our employees enjoy the rotating shift due to the days off received, which allows for time to accomplish things around the home and spend time with friends and family!

Pay:

  • $23.42 - $25.00 per Hour. The hourly rate for this position is determined by the level of the role, relevant experience, and may incorporate shift differentials, ensuring fair compensation that reflects both expertise and responsibilities entailed.
  • Shift differential for the PM shift is $2.00 per hour

What will I do in this role?

  • Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  • Responsible to package printed product and process all orders by scheduled ship dates.  Must be able to multitask and succeed in a fast paced work environment.
  • High level attention to detail is needed to ensure all printed product packaging specifications are followed and completed accurately.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with Account Service and Rewind Department personnel in order to meet daily shipment deadlines.
  • Will work with third party logistic software systems in order to determine the best and most economical shipping method that will meet customer needs.
  • Must be able to provide accurate job order data entry and be able to use Federal Express/UPS software systems.
  • Ability to use an automated stretch wrap machine used to wrap orders shipping out on skids.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Will have job duties specific to our Hazardous Waste Management Program for the proper disposal of spent solvents, waste inks and other designated waste products.  Some of the responsibilities include the placement of waste solvents/inks in designated waste drums, labeling of waste drums and moving waste drums to designated storage locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires education equivalent to two (2) years of high school.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.  May be required to work some overtime.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to: stand and walk for 90% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 10% of work time.
  • Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe and area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Ability to: use hands for 100% of work time (i.e. packing boxes, utility knife, etc.); and reach above shoulders for 25% of work time.
  • Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 20% of work time; 25 pounds or less 20% of work time; 50 pounds or less 50% of work time. (Example: lifting box of labels on to and off of the scale approximately 6 ft.)
