Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Summer 2025

Department: FLM SF
Location: De Pere, WI

Belmark creates many of the labels, cartons, and flexible film we as consumers see daily when shopping for various items. Our primary markets are in the food and beverage industry. Summary
Responsible to assist in all areas of the department, role will focus on learning and process improvement within assigned scopes.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities
1. Supports all areas of the business unit.
2. Identifies and solves basic problems based on clear and fundamental factors.
3. Assists with the resolution of quality issues.
4. Learns to analyze competitive targeted products.
5. Learn the role, master the role and improve the role for future interns.
6. Progress to a point of making contributions to the organization that would be comparable to those of a full time engineer
7. Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
8. May perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
1. Student enrolled full time at an accredited university pursuing a quality related career. Some applicable majors may include Applied Science – Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging.
2. Must understand people and be able to communicate and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner.
3. Ability to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials, and articulate action steps.
4. Must pay extremely close attention to detail.
5. Ability to operate a computer and typical Microsoft Office systems (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).

6. Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
7. Ability to read, comprehend and follow explicit written and oral instructions.
8. Must demonstrate ability to problem solve.
9. Ability to stand for up to 35% of work time; walk and use stairs for 35% of work time; and sit for 30% of work time.
10. Ability to identify and distinguish colors; and to see clearly at 20 inches or less, or 20 feet or more.
11. Ability to lift 10 pounds or less 30% of work time; and up to 40 pounds or less 15% of work time.
12. Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
13. Regular attendance is required, may be required to work some overtime.

Working Conditions
1. Normal office environment.
2. Normal manufacturing environment.
3. May be some exposure to vibrations, noise and chemical odors.
